Going that extra mile (striving for more)

A few weeks ago now I listened to one of our training calls & it really hit home. About striving for more.
I went walking that afternoon, I did not do the normal track.
In my wisdom I decided to take the high road home, (via the track of the national park that runs around our estate). I had not done this track for many years and not from this direction. It was in the afternoon, so it was very hot.
As I reached the first hill I was extremly glad that i had conquered it. Little did I know that when I looked up I saw that it was the small hill. The track in some parts was covered with gravel and leaves, both areas were slippery. I was half way up the next hill and could of given up or I could of cut through a property and then it would be a down hill run from there on.
Well I did not because that is not what life is all about.
It is about striving for more, being the best you can.
Setting your goals and going for it.
As I went on over the next hill and then a few more I felt that I had achieved because I had not given up.
Life is here for the taking, you have to just go out there and set your goals and go for it. At the end of the walk I felt proud of myself because I was not a quitter.
Since that day I have done those hills again & again they were not as hard even though I did sit down for a moment at the top of the largest hill to take in the scenery.
The hills were just not as high the next time around, because I already knew that I had achieved them before.
Every time you do something it gets that little bit easier to do the next time. So just got out there and try.
My father said to me a few weeks ago when I was talking to him on skype and asking him about his bruised face. He said that he was going for a point in tennis, slipped over went down on his face blood dripping everywhere. He said you have just go out there and live life, he went on to tell me that he won the point but lost the match, the point was he won the point. All this from a man that is out there living life at 84.

Do or do not there is no try

Let me paint you a picture, not a morning person, tired because man away, yes been married for 20 years and he is away for a week the longest we have been apart, 5.30am and hubby normally wakes me.
Got up to go for a walk at 5.30 in the morning well actually have been bouncing out of bed to go for a walk on a personal mission to lose wait (just don't know why we don't even realise that we put it on) any way as I said was tired missing hubby 5.30 morning and cold.
Had just turned around the half way point of my walk and it started to rain. I had no choice to walk home, I could of put my head down and try not to get too wet.
Well the night before in my Personal Development book YODA said from Star Wars saga (Do or do Not There is no try) you just have to accept where in life you are. At that present moment I was walking in the rain I could of as I said before just put my head down, or instead make a decision to accept.
As i decided to accept and looked up this is what i encounted, there was a fantastic eerie look of mist hovering over a few houses nestled below the hill. There was a mist over the lake waiting to come alive with the break of day not far away. The rain was now hitting my face instead of getting wet i felt itwas a hot summers day when I was splashing water over my face to wake up, the birds were cherping, the trees were showing me that they were hurting from years of drought, you just have to smell the roses some days other wise life is going to pass you by. I just would not of seen these things if I had put my head down.

Putting the pieces of the puzzle together

A few weeks on I have decided at this stage not to start the first book of my personal development course again. (at this stage)
Why you may ask I am not having a break I am opening up part 1 and part 2 at what ever page it falls on and the universe is relating this to the stage i am at in my journey in life.
Journalling with what ever is coming up for me at that present time.
Also have taken on more reading other Personal Development Books.
At present I am reading going for no. Yes is the destination; No is how you get there:
A must read for everyone even if you are not a reader (until 1 year ago I was not, now I can't get enough)

The Jigsaw Puzzle

Today I finished the first Guide book in Personal Development Journey (for the second time).
You would expect that one would now go onto the second guide book, but I will take a few days out, to reflect and then decide if I will start the same book over again.
You may ask why!
Sometime you just have to look outside the square.
I believe that life is like a jigsaw puzzle you just put one piece together at a time. You may put some of the outside pieces together or working on the trees on the inside. No matter which piece you are working on as long as you continuously are working on it you will eventually put the pieces of the puzzle together.
You may well ask what happens when you put that piece of the puzzle together, well you know what you will just start on another puzzle, the next puzzle may be harder or easier it does matter as long as you have passion to achieve you will put the piece together.
This is the same in my Personal Development Journey putting the pieces of the Jigsaw Puzzle of life together.

Video Recording Issues

Over the past week I have been recording a new Video to go onto my Web Site.
The issues that I have come across are
  • Not been able to remember the lines
  • Saying the lines back to front and adding new bits
  • Stumbling when recording
  • (this is a good one) Having the record button off when you thought it was on (because i was using a remote control) then believe your video was perfect and it did not record at all
  • Next issue: Won't down load to the dvd because the machine is telling you that you have not plugged anything in, when you know that you have
  • Then the machine telling you that it is not compatable.
  • After hours of getting it to download then the computer telling you that the dvd in not compatable, or viewing it on another format and there is now sound
  • Now a week later and still trying. Saying this is going to be the final attempt and you just hate being defeated SUCCESS HAS RISEN
  • You manage to email to another computer just to check it, and make sure that you can view it without the video recorder attached.
  • Motto is to try and try again / if at first you don't succeed believe that you can conquer and you will. The satifaction of doing it in the end is the REWARD
